Who can attend?

Both days of the Tapestry conference are open to everyone.

  • You do NOT need to attend or be a member of Irving Bible Church.
  • You do NOT need to be an adoptive or foster parent.
  • You do NOT need to be a Christian or even a church-going person.

Tapestry is a ministry of Irving Bible Church. If you have any questions about “who we are” as a church, you can read more about us on the IBC website.

Where is the conference?

Both days of the Tapestry Conference will be held at Irving Bible Church, located near I-635 and Belt Line Road at the corner of Kinwest Parkway and Regent Boulevard in Irving, Texas. Click here for more information and directions to Irving Bible Church.

What is the cost to attend?

Registration for the Tapestry Conference is required. Please complete the registration form below and click submit.

You may register for each day separately or both days at a discount. If you are a married couple attending both days, you can register together.  If you are a single parent and would like to bring a support person with you, please email tapestry@irvingbible.org for a discount code.

There is a nominal fee to attend, however, if you need assistance with the registration fee please email us at tapestry@irvingbible.org.

Individual parent/ministry leader (2-day discount) – $45.00
Married Couples (2-day discount) – $75.00

Tapestry is a ministry of Irving Bible Church, so some of our support comes from the church, while some support comes from families who share our passion about adoption and foster care and believe that the local church should play a unique and critical role in the lives of adoptive and foster families. If you have this same passion and want to help support our ministry financially so that we can continue to provide events and opportunities to connect like this conference, you can donate to Tapestry. You will also have an opportunity to make a financial contribution at the Tapestry Conference if you would like, but there is no pressure to do so.

What if I register and then need to cancel?

Tapestry is committed to doing all that we do while asking families to pay little or nothing for our events and activities. We need your help to allow us to continue doing this.

If your plans change and you will not be able to attend on Saturday or Friday FOR ANY REASON, we ask that you please email us at tapestry@irvingbible.org as soon as possible to let us know. This will help us make sure that we do not turn people away or waste money on food and materials that we don’t need.

In addition, we ask that you consider making your payment a donation to Tapestry to help us continue providing help and hope to adoptive and foster families. If you require a refund, you must cancel on or before FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 2017, and we will issue you a refund (less a $15 administrative charge). All refund payments will be paid by December 31, 2017. Refund requests can be sent to tapestry@irvingbible.org.

What if I have food allergies?

 

We understand that some people have food allergies or sensitivities that need to be accommodated.  However, given the number of people we are expecting for the conference it will be impossible for us to accommodate special requests.  Therefore, if you have food allergies or sensitivities and the above menu is not acceptable for you, please make plans to bring your own food.  Thanks for your help and understanding.

Do you offer foster/adoptive parent training credits?

Most foster and adoptive parents can count attendance at the Tapestry Conference toward their required continuing education training. At the end of the conference, we will provide certificates of attendance as documentation for your agency or DFPS. You can earn 6 hours of training credits on Friday and 6 hours of training credits on Saturday. If you have questions about whether your agency will give credit for the Tapestry Conference, please be sure to check with your agency in advance.

Do you offer CEUs for professionals?

CEU credits will be available for social workers and professional counselors licensed in Texas. There are 6 hours available on Friday and up to 6 hours available on Saturday.

Will you record the sessions?

We will record the Tapestry Conference. The sessions will be available for free on our website.

Is childcare available?

We will not offer childcare for the conference. We hope that you understand and that you will still be able to join us for this year’s conference.
